About me
Dawit, born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is an award-winning actor.
His passion for acting began as a child when he participated in school plays. He admired the actors he saw on the big screen and wanted to be just like them. As he grew older, Dawit developed a deep appreciation for the art of acting, especially the ability of actors to convincingly portray diverse characters. The idea of evoking different emotions, be it laughter, tears, or any range of feelings, fascinated him and motivated his love for the craft of acting.
In 2018, Dawit graduated from theaterschool De Trap in Amsterdam. After graduation, he focused on gaining experience by acting in short student films. These experiences laid the groundwork for his future success as an actor since he had the opportunity to meet new directors, crew members, and fellow actors, which was crucial for his career.
A year after graduating, Dawit took part in the 2019 World Championship of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, United States. Representing the Netherlands as an actor, Dawit participated in four acting categories and won an impressive four medals: three silver and one bronze. His outstanding performance also earned him a talent-based scholarship award to the prestigious New York Film Academy, a recognition given to only a few contestants.
In 2022, he successfully completed a one-year acting course at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, Dawit has made notable appearances in Dutch, British and American TV series such as "FBI International" and "Professor T." Additionally, Dawit has been involved in various short films, winning the title ‘Best Actor’ for his work on two 48 hour film projects, Bloot and Dreamfinity+. He has also appeared in commercials for well-known companies like Heineken, McDonald's, Johnnie Walker, and Alienware.
Apart from acting, Dawit has a strong passion for film editing and camerawork, and he has been actively involved in these roles within the Dutch media industry for several years. Nevertheless, despite his interest in various aspects of film and television, his primary and unwavering focus remains on his true passion for acting.
